BENEFICIARIES & ACTIVITIES
ACORN ART GALLERIES The art charity that assists and guides London's disadvantaged, marginalised and vulnerable through the medium of art projects and development activities.

Acorn Art Galleries Ltd is committed to and focused upon the needs of inspiring, supporting and enhancing the quality of life towards its primary and secondary beneficiaries. Acorn Art Galleries Ltd is a charity that wholly encompasses art therapy, and utilising art projects and training and development for its beneficiaries who fall into two categories: (1) Children & Young People, and, (2) Elderly People and Disabled Adults.

Through art projects, programmes, activities and work experience, Acorn Art Galleries Ltd aims to provide its comprehensive projects, resources and services that will aid its beneficiaries, and in return utilise the support given by a measure of the beneficiaries as volunteers for the furtherance of the charity.

 

 

Acorn Art Galleries Ltd primary beneficiaries are young people who are:

  1. Terminally or chronically ill,

  2. Disabled (sight, hearing and physically impaired),

  3. Have minor learning difficulties,

  4. Resident in institutional homes / foster care.

 

Acorn Art Galleries Ltd secondary beneficiaries are adults who are:

  1. Elderly people alone, neglected and residing in homes. As well as those suffering from a degenerative disease, e.g. Alzheimers.

  2. Disabled (sight, hearing and physically impaired),

  3. Have minor psychological symptoms and unemployed,

  4. Terminally ill.

 

In the case of the Children and Young People, these beneficiaries will be studying art or have a strong inclination towards art, and can participate in submitting artwork through Acorn Art Galleries' various monthly projects.

 

In the case of the Elderly People and Disabled Adults, these beneficiaries will have had a career in art, be studying art or have a strong inclination towards art.  Their participation is through gallery and office support that runs parallel with the monthly art submissions and exhibitions.

 

Integration and an understanding of the special needs of the beneficiaries is necessary for all those wishing to participate with the charity.  This includes the gallery support personnel, beneficiaries, volunteers, other charitable organisations, public and private companies and individuals.
